1    V100R002C00SPC002 and earlier versions       After the automatic upgrade policy takes effect, if an Huawei ONT  fails to be upgraded and enters the mini system, it cannot automatically trigger the automatic upgrade policy again and will not complete the upgrade.  High      After the failed ONTs go online again, manually upgrade them by using the NMS.     After the failed ONTs go online again, manually upgrade them by using the NMS.

For details about how to verify that an ONT has entered the mini system, see the note below this table.

2    Versions earlier than V100R002C00SPC201      If an ONT is powered off and restarted within 6s to 10s following its startup, the ONT sometimes enters the mini system.  Medium       In V100R002C00SPC201 and later versions, the ONT enters the silent state (in which the ONT does not send optical signals) when encountering this issue. This solution reduces risks.   Power off and restart the ONT again to make the ONT enter the system.

If the system is damaged, manually upgrade the ONT again by using the OLT or NMS to restore the ONT system.

For details about how to verify that an ONT has entered the mini system, see the note below this table.

3    V100R002C00SPC201 and earlier versions       If the same XML configuration file in correct format is re-applied to an ONT, the ONT does not write the file into the flash memory but directly returns a failure message. Such a message is displayed on the NMS and is inappropriate.      Medium       This issue is resolved in V100R002C00SPC202. The ONT of V100R002C00SPC202 or a later version does not write the XML configuration file into the flash memory and directly returns a success message. For ONTs of V100R002C00SPC201 or an earlier version, do not re-apply the same XML configuration file.       Change a parameter in the XML configuration file, re-apply the XML configuration file to the ONT from the NMS, and then change back the parameter.

4    V100R003C00SPC105       Five WAN ports are added on the U2000 and then the ONT is downgraded to V100R003C00S102. The configurations roll back and all services are lost.      Critical  As ONT configurations are lost, configurations must be applied again using the U2000.    ONT configurations are lost and the configurations must be applied again using the U2000.

The following describes the symptoms that indicate an ONT has entered the mini system (symptoms 1 and 2 are more common):

Symptom 1: The services of successfully upgraded ONTs fail after the HG8240  go online, although their services are functional before the upgrade; or in the display ont info command output, Software work mode is displayed as survival.

Symptom 2: The ONT status is displayed as emergency on the NMS.

  Symptom 3: Logging in to the ONT web page fails although the address of BR0 is successfully pinged.
